Obituary of Margaret A. Stronach

Margaret A. Stronach 1930-2016 Margaret Stronach of 80 Parrish Street, (formerly of East Lake Road) passed peacefully into the presence of her Savior on Friday April 8 at Ewing Care Center. She was born in W. Peabody, MA to Horace and Gertrude Stronach and raised in Haverhill, MA where she graduated from high school. After attending Macintosh Business College in MA, she came to Canandaigua Lake for a summer job at LeTourneau Christian Camp and made this her home thereafter. In addition to serving at the camp, Margaret was employed by the Welco Ad Company for over 37 years in the graphic layout department. She was honored at work for her loyalty, dependability, adaptability to new technology, and attention to detail. Margaret was a faithful charter member of Lifespring Community Church for 59 years since the church’s founding as Canandaigua Baptist Church. She served as a teacher in Sunday School, Pioneer Girls Leader, “Nativity Live” Participant, Church Librarian, and Congregational Clerk. In that role she will ever be remembered for her distinct New England accent as she read the minutes of congregational meetings. In addition to her work and church ministry, Margaret loved traveling, meals with her friends, reading, and crewel embroidery. She enjoyed participating and helping in the 80 Parrish street community activities. Margaret remained bright and eager to learn even during her recent illness. In her last few weeks she purchased a Kindle notebook and began to enjoy games and exploring the internet. She was known for her sweet smile and gracious personality. Margaret loved her family and friends deeply. She is survived by her sister Elizabeth “Libby” White of Winterhaven, FL; brother Malcolm Stronach of Haverhill, MA; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews (to whom she was ‘Aunt My’.) She is also missed by her many close friends and neighbors. Interment was Tuesday, April 12th at Overackers Cemetery, Rt. 364, Rushville, NY. A service celebrating God’s grace in Margaret’s life will be held on Saturday April 30 at 11:00 am at Lifespring Community Church, 5026 North Road, Canandaigua.
