Obituary of Ralph Thomas Salato

Ralph "Bunny" Salato,. age 88 of Canandaigua, died on Thursday April 14 at the Ontario Center Facility outside of Canandaigua. He was predeceased by his son Thomas A. Salato, parents Thomas & Angeline (Angie) Salato and brother Albert "Alfie" Salato. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Victoria "Vickie", daughters Linda (Charles) Lee of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Cyndi (Nicolas) Gonzalez of Rochester, Pamela (Dana) Ruggles of Shortsville & Rachael (Geoff) Salato of Phelps, 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, sister Jean Salato Senglaub of Canandaigua; stepchildren Karen and David Ressue, 3 step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends. "Bunny" was born in Cayuga N. Y., moving with his parents to Canandaigua in 1938 when his father was transferred to the New York Central Railroad Freight Office. He was a graduate of St. Mary's Parochial School and Canandaigua Academy, class of 1944. After serving in the U. S. Navy at the onset of World War II, he returned to Canandaigua where he married,. raised his family and remained until his death. Over the years he worked at the VA Medical Center in Canandaigua, owned a local delivery service and ultimately retired from Copco Publishers as Plant Manager. Family will receive friends @ Fuller Funeral Home, Buffalo St., Canandaigua, on Thursday, April 21, 2-4 and 6-8 Funeral Mass @ St. Mary's Church in Canandaigua on Friday, April 22, @ 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Scholarship Fund of Canandaigua Kiwanis Club, or St. Mary's School, Canandaigua.
