Obituary of Bruce F. Edwards

Bruce F. Edwards Canandaigua – Bruce Edwards passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on May 22, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife Debbie (Chappelle); Brother Jeff (Sandy) Edwards; Two sons Derek (Tammy) Edwards, Adam (Laura Edwards); Five daughters Andrea Edwards, Kellie Springer (Bill)(Dan), Katie Miller, Maggie Miller (Democ), Kimberlie Miller (Tom); 11 grandchildren Jillian, Lexi, Noah, Luke, Delaney, Marissa, Payton, Jackson, Natalie, Alex, and Madeline and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Sally; Brother Scott; Parents Reginald and Beverly Edwards. A 1973 graduate of Canandaigua Academy, Bruce was a beloved school bus driver for Canandaigua City School District for 26 years, 20 of which he served as the president of the bus drivers association. Additionally, Bruce entertained and educated customers as an auto parts specialist with Napa Auto in Shortsville for over 25 years. Fulfilling his love for serving his community along with his love for the medical field, Bruce was a member of the Canandaigua Ambulance Squad for 27 years; serving many years as captain or president. He also served as a dedicated local tow truck operator for over 20 years. Bruce attended Good Shepard Lutheran Church and had deep roots within his faith. He was kind man, with a heart bigger than life. Saying "no" to someone wasn't an option and often would go out of his way to make life easier for someone else. He was a family man who dedicated his life to being the best husband, father, brother and grandpa he could be. His grandkids were the center of his world-often filling his days with fixing outside toys, building random projects or bouncing to different schooling events with his wife. He was known for sneaking extra candy and cookies to the grandkids just to get a rise from their parents as the kids giggled. He had a great laugh with a contagious smile that will forever be missed. His hugs were huge and his love was unconditional. When he wasn't being the hardworking man he was well known for, he could be found absolutely loving life garage "saling" with Debbie, repairing vehicles in his garage, remodeling his home or traveling to the Thousand Islands or Florida with family. However, most of all, in any spare time his heart was owned by his grandkids that just thought the world of him. Being a grandpa was his world.
