Obituary of Andrew P. Locke

Andrew Paul Locke, 54, of Bloomfield, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, July 20, 2016. Andy was born on January 12, 1962, the son of the late Reverend Ralph D. Locke and Nancy Wright Locke. He graduated from Geneva High School and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, having served in the US and Great Britain. After his discharge, Andy attended Finger Lakes Community College, earning an AAS Degree in Criminal Justice. After college, Andy served the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office as a Corrections Officer for 22 years and was a part time county police officer for 11 years. Andy was always on time, meticulous in both his work and everyday life. Andy enjoyed hunting, camping, being outdoors and working out; he was in the process of taking classes for his motorcycle license to ride his Harley, ready to write new chapters in his life. Mostly, Andy loved his daughter Jessica, speaking of her often and always with great pride. Andy was bigger than life; to all of us, his family, he was a strong mountain, impenetrable. He is survived by his daughter, Jessica of Rochester; mother, Nancy Locke; brother David Locke, sisters Roxanne Kelly and Judith (Richard) Lerch, all of Geneva. Andy remained close to and is survived by Gary and Bonnie Bidwell of Bloomfield; Ken and Jean Bidwell, also of Bloomfield and Debbie Bidwell. Andy touched and influenced many lives, especially Adam (Lindsey) Shallenberger and Danielle Shallenberger . He is also survived by a large extended family including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and a nephew. Andy was predeceased by his father, Reverend Ralph D Locke and his brother in law, John Kelly. Family and friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday (July 26) at the Fuller Funeral Home, 190 Buffalo St, Canandaigua. Funeral Services will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 95 North Main St, Canandaigua at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, (July 27). Burial will follow at Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
