Obituary of Patricia G. Otero

Trecia (Tree) Otero Canandaigua- “Tree” Otero passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on October 30, 2016 at Strong Memorial Hospital. Tree will be missed by everyone that knew her. She touched the lives of so many, having an amazing spirit, a compassionate heart and she was fearless. Her strength was above anything that challenged her. She is now in a place where she no longer has to deal with being limited in anything she wants to do. Tree worked hard to become a nurse even though she resisted with her "no, I hate nurses" mantra. Her three sisters, who are all nurses, just laughed it off because we knew she was just prolonging the inevitable. So not only did she become a nurse, but she blew it out of the water being nominated 'Rising Star Nurse of the Year' by the March of Dimes her first year in practice. Tree’s fiancé Pete Rayburn was and still is the love of her life and supported her thru all of the difficult issues she has had to endure since December of 2013. She was an amazing woman who loved her family and friends with all her heart. A piece of those who loved her is gone. But I'm sure she'll still let us know she's with us. I find comfort in knowing we had so much time together. Comfort in the realization than even though she was taken from us too soon, she lived a big life. She never turned down an adventure or an opportunity to help a friend. You always knew where you stood with her and her laugh and sense of humor stayed with her through challenges that most would have found impossible to bear. Our loss is heaven’s gain. Tree is survived by her loving fiancé Peter Rayburn, daughter Sirena (Mark) Lush of Fairport, son Aaron of Lake George, sister Barbara Manning of Canandaigua, sister Christine Quigley of Colorado, sister Kathy (John) Lavelle of Staten Island, brother Peter (Judy) Quigley of Owego NY, brother Doug (Lynn) Quigley of Babylon NY, brother Paul Quigley of Florida, granddaughter Kaela Lush, nephews Michael, John, Peter, Sean, Cael, Corbyn, Chad,Zachary and Jared, nieces Theresa, Jessica, Kelly, Sarah, Amanda, Tabitha and Kate Quigley. And more close friends than we could ever list. Friends may call Thursday, November 3, from 3-7pm at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to: Fralick Cardiac Rehab Center at FF Thompson hospital, 350 Parrish St. Canandaigua, NY 14424.
