Obituary of Mary C. Maio

Mary C. Maio Canandaigua- Mary Maio, who was born, raised and spent her life in Canandaigua, passed away at FF Thompson Hospital on November 16, 2016, at age 82. Mary is survived by her daughter, Sabrina Maio-Kissell (Shannun Mittermeier); grandson, Brett Kissell; brother, Rocco Maio; sister, Nina Davis; and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Antonio and Mary Catalfamo Maio; brothers, Joseph and Frank Maio; sisters, Fran Hall, Teresa Walker, Mamie Brink, and Sally Evangelista; sister-in-law, Betty Maio; brothers-in-law, Al Brink and Larry Hall; and special cousins, Fannie Tripodi, and Jeanne and Steve Rush. Mary graduated from St Mary's School and the Canandaigua Academy class of 1953. She retired from the Ontario County Sheriff's Office after 20 years of service and was the first female Civil Deputy in New York State. She was a strong and outspoken woman and will be greatly missed by her family. A 10:30 am memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, November 23, at St. Mary's Church, 95 N. Main St. Canandaigua.
