Obituary of Shirley L. Housel

SHIRLEY L. HOUSEL CANANDAIGUA: Bristol native Shirley Housel, 83, of 350 Parrish St., died Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Thompson Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was born on March 12, 1933 in the town of Bristol to the late Fred and Maude (Tones) Baker. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Paula, her longtime companion Eddie Detreville, father of her children John Housel and her brothers Martin, Percy and Leland Baker. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, was retired from the VAMC in Canandaigua and had been a well known and well loved waitress at the former Caruso's restaurant for over twenty years. Survivors include her children, Freeman (Jennifer) Housel, Canandaigua, John (Kathy) Housel, Canandaigua, Ellen (Jim) Johnson, Canandaigua, Linda (Bert) Dailey, Penn Yan, Jody (Pat) Devlin, Rushville, Dawn (Brian) Brown, Canandaigua, Karl (Sheri) Housel and Orrin both of Canandaigua, 23 Grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, a brother Joe (Kathy) Secor, Rochester, her sister Sue Hilfiker, Florida and her extended family at MM Ewing Continuing Care Center. Friends may call at Fuller Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. where services will follow visitation at 7. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.
