Joshua Shaver

Obituary of Joshua P. Shaver

Joshua P Shaver, 35, passed away on May 28, 2017, as a result of injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident.

Josh grew up in Honeoye, NY, and attended Keuka College before spending some time living in Maryland. He really found joy in settling down with his family in Canandaigua. It was at this time that he began working as a Deputy with the Ontario County Sheriff's Department. Josh has always been a huge supporter of the law enforcement community and the Badge of Honor Association. He just recently received the Lifesaver Award on Law Day in Ontario County. Second only to his family, he was proudest of his involvement in law enforcement and his community.

Josh leaves behind his beloved wife, Mary, meeting and knowing they were soul mates at the young age of 21, and having now been married over 10 years. He also leaves behind their two precious daughters, Laney (6) and Kelsey (2). Josh has unknowingly taught many lessons on how to be an amazing husband, father, and all around good man. These things will continue on in the many lives he touched.

Also survived by a loving Father-In-Law and Mother-In-Law, Dennis and Lucille Delaney of Rome, Brother-In-Law, Dennis and Wife, Shannon of Delaware, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and an infinite number of friends.

His Father Paul Shaver and his wife Patti of Honeoye, also continue on past Josh's time on Earth, along with his Mother Janet Shaver of Syracuse, and his Sister Amy Judge and Husband Michael of Camp Lejeune. He will also be missed by his Step Sisters Emily and Sarah along with Step-Brother Russell and wife Nicole.

He would want a special thank you to go out to go out to his many special friends. Dan and Doug Albert, Amanda and Tony Petroccione, Shane, Chris and Aaron, "The Fellas", and of course all of his Brothers in Blue.

Our family cannot thank Strong Memorial Hospital enough for the absolute best of care that allowed us time with our beloved Josh. Beyond just his care, they cared for us as well. It will never be forgotten.
