It was a pleasure working with Ian the past 13 years. Even when I left for a period of time, he would always stop and talk to me for a few minutes. Once I came back in 2006, he was one of the very first employees to welcome me back to Canandaigua. He was so passionate about his job and his customers. Ian knew how to brighten up someone's day-with a smile. Ian was a warm and caring person and I am glad that I got the chance to know him.
Whenever I hear a weather report, whenever I hear something about the Islands, or whenever I hear a Bon Jovi song on the radio, I will always think of Ian.
You will truly be missed by all of your customers and by your fellow co-workers. You will never be forgotten.

While working at Wegman's for over 2 years as the mag/book merchandiser, I came to know Ian and it was both a pleasure & honor. He would always let me know when a bad storm was heading our way and to drive carefully. I will always remember his smile & his Bon Jovi jacket. I will never forget him coming up to me with a huge hug and saying how much he missed me after I quit my job. Ian, you will always have a place in my heart! I know you are at peace and we will meet again my friend. God be with your family!

I met Ian two weeks ago when I was loading my groceries in my car at Wegmans in Canandaigua.
Ian came up and asked me if I'd like some help.
We chatted for awhile and he told me how happy he was in every aspect of his life. We left each other with wishes for each other to have a good day. I couldn't help thinking how much better life would be if more people had Ian's spirit.
Ian is safely home now with his heavenly Father.
I wish peace to the loved ones he's left behind.

I only knew Ian by his bright smile and happy attitude when he was helping me with my groceries at Wegmans ;but, I enjoyed all of my encounters with him. I was saddened when I saw the obituary in the paper last night. I remember him telling me in the worst weather how he just loved being outside. I'm sure he brightened the days of many other people who had contact with him. I send my sincerest sympathy for your loss.

Words can never express the sorrow we feel. Ian was like a member of our family and we loved him dearly. Ian's excitement over a new ship going by, a weather alert, a fire siren in the distance or just giving a ride on his new "mobile" will always be cherished memories for us. Carly, Rob, Eric, Jenna and Michelle, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

We got to know Ian when we started shopping at Wegmans four years ago. I learned early on that if I asked him about the weather, I'd have to tell Sue to go on inside without me - I'd catch up later! One could always know he was coming to chat by his greeting: "Well HELLO there!"
What a nice young man. We are so sorry for the family's loss, and we will miss him.
