Obituary of Mary Patricia O'Brien

Mary Patricia O'Brien Canandaigua- Mary O'Brien passed away May 6, 2020 at MM Ewing Continuing Care Center. Born July 16, 1926, to William J. and Mary (Corrigan) O'Brien, in Toronto, ON Canada. She graduated with a BA from St. Michael's College, University of Toronto (1946); a Teaching Certificate from University of Toronto, School of Education (1947). Mary received her MA in Latin and English graduating from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois (1956). She taught in Canadian high schools through 1952; in Chicago high schools through 1956; New Jersey high school through 1998 and finally in Ithaca, NY high school until 1997. Mary was a member of St. Mary's Church in Canandaigua. She was predeceased by her son, Joseph D. Heydenburg. Mary is survived by her sons, Michael, Thomas and Patrick Heydenburg; and all the young people she had taught from 1946-1997. Services be private. Interment will be in Toronto, Canada.
