Canandaigua- Mary Daum Cummings (b. Mary Lenore Whitehill) died peacefully in Rochester, NY, on February 1, 2021 at the age of 91.
She was born in Butler, PA, the oldest of four siblings, to Mary Doerr Whitehill and George Washington Whitehill. She graduated from Slippery Rock State Teachers College and married the love of her life, Theodore Edward Daum, in 1951. Collins, CO, and Green Valley, AZ, together, Larry passed away in 2013 and Mary came back east to Canandaigua, NY.
She is survived by four of her kids, Michael George Daum, Christopher Paul Daum, Mary Ann Flood, and Amy Daum Rosemond, in addition to ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; her sister, Georgeann Hitzel; and brother, Simeon Whitehill.
Her son, Theodore Edward Daum, Jr., and her brother Bernard Whitehill preceded her in death.
She had a loving, spirited, and powerful personality and liked her coffee "Black as night, strong as love, and hot as hell!"
