Sarah (Randall) VanNoy-Bounds

Sally, age 85, passed peacefully on December 18th at Strong Memorial Hospital.


She is survived by sister Mildred (Alan) Vakiener; daughters; Judy (John) Wint, Kay (Carl) Napoleon; grandchildren, Brooke (Devin) Tunison and Carter Napoleon; step-daughter Christine (Paul) Doody, step-grandchildren Kayla (Cole) Talbott , Brynna Doody, and great-grandson Nolan. Brother-in-Laws; Rodney (Evilen Ward) Bounds, Claude (Virginia) Bounds, Robert Bounds and Gerald (Sharon) Bounds; Several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by a dear and close long-time childhood friend; Rosalie Nudd.


A very sincere thank you to Sally's great-niece Sam Sassone for her love, support and extensive care through the years along with Wendy Ciardi, Cathy Bounds and Lorrie Whipple.


She was predeceased by parents Gordon and Esther (Luffman) Randall; and husbands; Rayman L. Bounds, DeWitt E. VanNoy, and sister; Eleanor (Rudy) Elwell.


Sally was born in South Bristol on May 27,1939. She attended a one-room schoolhouse for five years. She graduated from Naples Central School and Rochester Business Institute. Sally was Town Clerk for the Town of Canandaigua for 36 years. She was very instrumental in planning the new Town Hall on Routes 5 & 20 after working at the Town Hall on Main Street and Route 332.


Sally was very involved in her community and loved participating in the following organizations: Ontario County Republican Committee; Town of Canandaigua Republican Committee; New York State Town Clerk Association and was named 1994 Town Clerk of the Year. Sally was instrumental in establishing Ontario County Town Clerk's Association as well as an initial member of First United Methodist Church and was very active in Manchester United Methodist Church (finance and hospitality).


Sally's enjoyment in life was spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren always brought her so much joy. She also looked forward to her monthly luncheons with her '56 Club and Friday mornings with the "coffee girls".


Friends and family may call Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo Street Canandaigua, NY 14424 from 10:00 to 12:00 pm. A 12:00 PM funeral service will follow at the funeral home. The burial will be at Brookside Cemetery, Shortsville after the funeral service.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to Light Hill/Canandaigua Comfort Care Home, 5160 Parrish St. Ext. Canandaigua, NY.
