Diane Minier

Obituary of Diane I. Minier

Diane Irene Bartram Minier As a loving, diligent daughter, Diane was predeceased by her father Frederick H. Bartram and mother Virginia W. Bartram. Diane is survived by her husband of 56 years, Arthur J. Minier, daughter Kimberly A. Minier, and grand dog Hope. Diane was born in Rochester, NY on September 27, 1942. The area became her lifelong residence. Pittsford, NY was her heart home where she peacefully passed in the early morning on February 4, 2025, surrounded by family. Diane's faith in God and love for her family and friends defined her. Diane attended Sacred Heart Academy, Our Lady of Mercy High School '61, and Rochester Business Institute where she met Art at a bulletin board. Art and Diane were married at St. Thomas More Church on October 19, 1968. Diane worked with her father at his car dealership, Bartram Chrysler Plymouth, before becoming an administrative secretary at the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance. Diane then assumed what she considered to be her greatest position in life, a devoted mother and homemaker. Diane read to Kim daily as a child. This, along with Kim's late grandmother's love for reading, instilled a passion for it and learning at a young age, leading her to become a career-long literacy specialist in the Penfield Central School District. Diane loved to hear about the students Kim taught and often helped her set up her classroom, bulletin boards, or purchased items for students. Diane was a soft-spoken, kind-hearted woman who genuinely cared about those in her life and for whom she would say a prayer or extend a helping hand. She was an excellent listener who made others feel what they had to say was truly important. She was there for others when a friend was needed most. This also included caring for and loving six dogs in her lifetime. Diane made a house feel like home. Diane believed each day was a blessing. This became especially important to her after being diagnosed with breast cancer in July 2018. Diane's faith, strength, and care from her oncology team at the Pluta Cancer Center allowed her years of additional quality of life. She served as an inspiration and caregiver to Kim on her cancer journey. Diane began each day with a cup of coffee, prayer, and watching Mass. Traditions truly mattered to her. Diane's interests included gardening, shopping, beauty, interior decorating, and watching birds at the feeder, especially cardinals. She was a collector of purses and embroidered shirts. She celebrated birthdays and holidays in grand style with attire, décor, and food. Diane enjoyed ice cream from the Pittsford Farms Dairy, along with Stever's or Dove Chocolates. Diane loved Italian gnocchi and meals from Char Broil. She watched the Sound of Music each time it aired. She played golf and attended neighborhood PGA tournaments at Oak Hill Country Club. She proudly cheered on her Buffalo Bills every Sunday. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas More Church 2617 East Avenue Rochester, NY 14610 on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. For those wishing, please honor Diane with a donation to the Pluta Cancer Foundation: https://plutacancerfoundation.org/ways-to-give/.
