Obituary of Kara L. Goodall
Kara Leigh Goodall has recently reunited with her best friend and mother, Cathy, her beloved grandparents, and her cherished furry companions in Heaven. She leaves behind her dear child, Felix; her sisters, Kelly and Kerry; her nieces and nephews, Madalynn, Ethan, and Ainsleigh; her devoted life partner of 20+ years, Jason Tyo; and their three treasured cats.
Kara was a vibrant, creative soul with a larger-than-life personality. Her booming, electric raspy voice and hilarious antics touched everyone around her. Whether cracking jokes, singing loudly, or simply sharing her unique perspective on life, Kara undeniably made everything more fun.
Her dedication to helping others defined her career—whether it was retail, hospitality, or most notably, her time nannying and time spent at the YMCA, Care-A-Lot and TLC childcare. She played an instrumental role in enriching the lives of countless local children by providing exceptional childcare and creating memorable experiences. Most recently, Kara served as a Day Program and Life Enrichment leader at Bridges for Brain Injuries in Farmington, where she coordinated activities for individuals living with traumatic brain injuries. Her deep care for others shone through in everything she did, and she took joy in making a meaningful impact on people's lives.
Kara's love for the New York State Fair was legendary. She eagerly counted down the days each year and earned lifetime access to her favorite event. The fair brought her immense happiness, and she was delighted to share it with others, ensuring they experienced it through her enthusiastic and gorgeous blue eyes. She was also passionate about Halloween (and spending the season working at Haunted Housel), sour candy, and the Buffalo Bills. She was also obsessed with all things Willy Wonka and Beetlejuice. Above all, Kara loved helping people have a good time. She cherished the time spent with family and friends. Kara was a prolific artist and a craft master, always creating for those around her. She was endlessly funny and brought laughter to every space she entered.
Whether she was handing out flowers to strangers, being a supportive neighbor or coworker, or simply sharing her incredible laugh nearby, Kara had a remarkable ability to leave a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her kind spirit has enriched our lives, and we are all better for having known her. Instead of flowers, please consider donating to the Ontario County Humane Society (ontariocountyhumanesociety.org).
