Canandaigua – Donald R. Erbig, 76, passed away February 20, 2025, at Thompson Hospital.


Don was born July 31,1948 in Brooklyn, NY. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served from 1968-1970 in the Vietnam War. He was based in ChuLai. Upon his return he worked for the Daily News in Valley Stream, Long Island. He moved to Canandaigua in 2006.


Don was predeceased by his parents: Raymond and Ruth (Manico) Erbig, his son: Donald Erbig, and his brother:Raymond Erbig Jr.


He is survived by his three children: daughters, Melissa (Angelo) Chiarenza and Regina Erbig, his son, Timothy, his six grandchildren: Marissa, Shane, Sofia, Gabriella, Nicholas and Isabella, all of Long Island, NY. He is also survived by his sisters: Mary Ann (Art) Benham and Catherine (Frank) Macri and many nieces and nephews, all of Canandaigua, NY.


In keeping with Don's wishes, services will be private.
