Obituary of Ann H. Page

Ann Herold Page was born on Jan 3, 1927, in Cleveland, OH. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence C. Herold and Florence K. Kushman. Many summers were spent with her sister, Jane, at the family cottage on Put-In-Bay Island in Lake Erie. Ann lived through the Great Depression, WW II, the Civil Rights Movement, the Vietnam War, 9/11 and the rise of the internet. Through it all she kept an unstoppable sense of humor and a love of adventure. She married Walter Joseph Page in 1961 and moved west where they lived in Oregon, Nevada, and Northern California. Walt was a blacksmith who met Ann while shoeing her horse. Ann was an animal lover who was especially fond of dogs. Their home always contained an assortment of pets, which kept their two daughters, Robin and Riley, well entertained. When Ann's father became ill, they moved back to Cleveland where the family enjoyed hiking and riding in the Metroparks. Ann loved to read and, after moving to Pennsylvania, often volunteered at Stone Memorial Library in Conneautville, where her best friend was the librarian. Ann became a widow in 1976. On her own she faithfully worked and supported her girls through high school, college, careers and marriage. She welcomed her daughters' friends into her home and often joined them in playing cards and board games. Ann was known for keeping stashes of M&Ms, having a freezer stocked with ice cream and for her homemade granola. Ann again moved to the Cleveland area to live and travel with her sister for several years before following her grown daughters to the hills of Naples, NY. Spending time with her grandchildren, walking with her dogs and participating in exercise classes kept her active into her 90s. She attended Bristol Springs Free Church and enjoyed many years living at the Naples Creek Apartments. Ann spent her last year and a half at the Friendly Home in East Rochester, NY, where her sweet nature made her a favorite of many of the staff. She died on February 27, 2025, at the age of 98. She is survived and missed by her two daughters, Robin (Ralph) Hewit and Riley (Drew) Hoselton; five grandchildren, Rachel (Rick) Almendinger, Reuben (Sherri) Hewit, Ryan (Victoria) Hewit, D. Randon (Amanda) Hoselton and Dane (Anne Shirley) Hoselton; and eight great grandchildren. At the age of 95 she accepted Jesus Christ as her savior and is now in His presence, laughing, loving and, likely, eating chocolate. We will celebrate her life at 3:30 on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Glendoveers, 2328 Old Browncroft Blvd, Rochester NY.
