Canandaigua, NY - Jeanne A. DeCourcey, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Aaron Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Fairport, NY, two weeks shy of her 90th birthday.
She is survived by her son, David (Judy), grandsons, Michael (Danielle) and James (Jessica), and great-granddaughter, Madison Jeanne DeCourcey. Jeanne is also survived by her sister-in-law, Edna Vienneau, and several nieces and nephews .
Jeanne was predeceased by her husband, Richard DeCourcey, in 2010, her parents, Adelard and Rosalie (Saulnier) Vienneau and siblings, Gerald Vienneau, Mary Gaudet, Arthur Vienneau, Ernest Vienneau, and Alice Donnelly.
Born and raised in Worcester, MA, Jeanne moved to the Boston area after she was married, living in Winthrop and later in Braintree. She retired as the office manager of the Boston law firm, Taylor, Ganson & Perrin. In 2014, Jeanne moved to the senior living community, Quail Summit in Canandaigua, NY, where she made many friends.
Jeanne was an avid reader, and she loved to knit and crochet. She made thousands of hats, scarves, and mittens for the homeless. She also loved writing letters to family and friends, sharing family news and photos.
There will be no calling hours. The burial will be at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree, MA, at the convenience of the family.
