May 20, 1947 – June 10, 2025
With heavy hearts, the family of Thomas James Finnick announces his peaceful passing on June 10, 2025, at the age of 78.
Born on May 20, 1947, Tom spent his life in Canandaigua, New York, where he worked for over 40 years at Pactiv, earning the respect and friendship of many coworkers throughout his long career. Beyond his work, Tom found great joy in the outdoors. He especially loved hunting waterfowl, with a special fondness for Canadian geese, and spent many peaceful hours fishing. His love for music was lifelong, and his home was often filled with the sounds of Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Sandy Denny, and many others who brought him comfort and happiness.
Tom is survived by his loving daughter Kim Dudley and her husband Matt; his grandsons, Christian and Andrew, who brought him tremendous pride and joy; his brother and favorite hunting partner, Stephen Finnick and his wife Chris; his nephew Ryan; his half-sister, Darcy Finnick; his half-brother, JT Finnick; and several other nieces and nephews. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Fuller Funeral Home will coordinate cremation and interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life privately.
The family would like to thank the hospice caregivers for their kindness and support during Tom's final days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Laurel House, a hospice comfort care home, at 224 Fair Street, Newark, NY 14513.
Tom's love of family, the outdoors, and music will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
