Gerald P. Birmingham Obituary

Gerald Patrick Birmingham, 88, died June 28, 2025 in Rochester NY after an illness.

He was born September 30, 1936, in Allegany to Edward J Birmingham and Celestine M Birmingham (Conlan).

After graduating high school, Gerry earned his BS from Wichita State University in 1965. Gerald married Marjorie on June 8, 1963.

One of his proudest early memories was being part of the 1953 Allegany Blue Devils undefeated football season.

After serving in the Air Force as a lab tech (1955-1958), Gerry worked as a phlebotomist, where he met his wife.

Gerry went on to become a truck driver (1973-1984), ran the "You are what you think" program at Oneida correctional facility for over 10 years, worked with Amway for over twenty years, helped Habitat for Humanity for four years, and ran the Victor Community Garden for two years.

His interests included football, reading, chess, politics, farming, volunteerism, and pets – his current being a cute Puggle named Nala.

Mr. Birmingham is predeceased by his wife, Marjorie Birmingham (Makowski); two sons and their spouses, Michael Fittzgerald, Shawn and Ann Birmingham; two daughters and their spouses, Sharon Bristow, Jay and Kelly (Birmingham) Steiger; and two grandchildren, Aidan and Troy Steiger.
