April 21, 1939 - June 16, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara A. Coss, who passed away Monday, June 16, 2025, at the age of 86. Born in East Herrick, PA on April 21, 1939, to the late Janna and Edna Wheeler Coss.

Barbara was a lifelong member of the Canandaigua area. Barb was a faithful and devoted member of Crosswinds Wesleyan Church since 1955. Her unwavering commitment to her church family was reflected in her work as a Sunday School teacher, Junior Church teacher and active member of Adults Alive Ministry. She also dedicated 16 years of her life to Child Evangelism Fellowship, where she touched countless young lives with her love and faith.

She worked in Rochester all her life, working at Stromberg Carlson, General Dynamics, and Wegmans. She touched many lives there.

Barbara is survived by her sister Ruth Outhouse and her sister Suzanne (Henry) Pentycofe. She was cherished by numerous nieces and nephews including Brenda (Albert) Day, Karen Outhouse, Ron (Jan) Huizen, Kevin (Dawn) Outhouse, Beth (Jim) Bator, Darnell (Gary) Sampo, Justin Wright, Matthew (Joy) Stell and Autumn Stell as well as many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.

Barbara was predeceased by her parents Janna and Edna Coss; sisters Deborah and Judith (Cee) Parr; brother James (Shirley) Coss, nephew Robert Coston and brother-in-law Earl Outhouse.

Barbara was known for her generosity, her nurturing spirit, and her deep love for God and family and her numerous friends. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her, her legacy of kindness, service, and faith will live on in the hearts of many.

An 11 AM celebration of life will be held on July 21, 2025, at the Crosswinds Wesleyan Church 3360 Middle Cheshire Rd. Canandaigua where she spent so much of her life.
