Nicholas Guererri Obituary

In Loving Memory of Nicholas Guererri

January 27, 2001 – October 29, 2025

Nicholas Guererri lived with a heart full of laughter, creativity, and love. From the moment he was born on January 27, 2001, he brought joy and light to his parents, Kristine and Thomas Guererri, and his sister, Emily DeJesus (Paul), who adored him from the start.

Nick was the kind of person who made every space brighter. His easy smile, quick wit, and thoughtful nature drew people in, and his kindness left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him. He approached life with humor, warmth, and genuine care for others, never missing a chance to make someone feel seen, appreciated, and loved.

A lifelong hockey player, Nick first stepped onto the ice at age three and went on to play for the Canandaigua Knights, carrying that passion throughout his life. He also had a deep love for the arts and found joy in capturing beauty through photography and film. His creativity reflected how he saw the world, with tenderness, curiosity, and heart.

Nick earned his Associate Degree from Finger Lakes Community College in New Media and graduated Cum Laude from the University at Buffalo with a Bachelor’s Degree in Media Study. He courageously completed his studies while battling brain cancer, showing remarkable strength and determination.

Nick fought brain cancer for 1,200 days, facing each day with courage, humor, and gratitude. Even in the hardest moments, he continued to find light for himself and for others. His strength, positivity, and grace will remain an enduring inspiration to all who knew him.

Nick loved deeply and lived fully. He cherished time with his family and friends, found joy in cheering on the Buffalo Bills, and approached every day with gratitude and love.

He is survived by his loving parents Kristine and Thomas Guererri, sister and brother-in-law Emily and Paul DeJesus, maternal grandparents Ronald and Patricia Smith, and his beloved dog Max. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family who cherished him deeply. Nick is predeceased by his paternal grandparents Peter and Violet Guererri.

Nick’s gentle heart, bright spirit, and unwavering kindness will live on in the memories of those who loved him most. He taught us to find beauty in small things, to laugh often, and to love without hesitation.

We would like to thank Nick’s team at Wilmot Cancer Center and ask in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in Nick’s name to Head for the Cure. By mail: Head for the Cure Foundation 1607 Oak St. Kansas City, MO 64108 or online at headfor thecure.org
