James E. Franklin Obituary

James "Jim" E. Franklin, 91, of Newark, NY, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025.


Jim was born on January 19, 1934. He proudly served his country as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps from 1952–1955, fighting in the Korean War. Throughout his life, he carried himself with the strength, humility, and dedication that defined his years in service. His favorite people lovingly knew him as "Pops."


Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth P. Franklin, and his daughter, Connie D. Burnette.


He is survived by his son-in-law, Timothy Burnette, and his children Steven (Daphne) Franklin and Tamara Gilliland. He leaves behind a large and loving family of grandchildren: Mitchell Wilson, Asia (Brandon) Wright, Nico Roy, Jeremiah (Mary) Franklin, Wade (Amy Jo) Franklin, Grace (Preston) Allen, William Anderson, Winston Anderson, and Amanda Rivas, as well as 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.


Private services will be held at Fuller Funeral Home.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warriors in Jim's honor.


Jim will be remembered for his courage, his devotion to family, and the steady, loving presence he offered to all who knew him.
