The obituary was written by Gladys' granddaughter, Kyrsten Rorick.
Gladys (Glady) Rorick, devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29th, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on February 3rd, 1960, Glady was 65 years old.
Glady married the love of her life, Leonard Rorick, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and partnership. Together, they built a family grounded in warmth, gratitude, and unwavering support. Gladys is survived by her husband Leonard; their children Arthur Rorick (Wendy Dame) and Tina Rorick (Mark Soura); their grandchildren Kyrsten Rorick, Daniel Rorick, Trinity Rorick, and Ryan Soura; her father Arthur Schnell; her sisters Laurinda Pawlaczyk (George Pawlaczyk) and Ginny Garber (Dale Garber); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends, and her beloved fur-nephew, Owl the dog. She is preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Celentano Schnell, her brother, Louie Schnell, her father-in-law, Charles Rorick, and brother-in-law, Roger Rorick.
Glady shaped each person in her family in ways that will be felt for generations. Though hearts are heavy and she is missed deeply, there is comfort in knowing that she left this world exactly as she lived in it- held closely by the people she loved.
As a woman who valued a quiet life, Glady found peace in simple moments. She loved sipping a piping hot cup of coffee beside a cozy campfire, sharing stories over a warm home-cooked meal, and taking long Sunday drives down backroads to appreciate the beauty of nature. She found joy in life's small moments, the ones so many of us rush past- and she taught those around her to slow down and savor them too.
Her life may have been quiet, but it was never passive. Glady was deeply devoted to her family. Her love wasn't loud or showy, but it was steady, fierce, and unwavering. It lived not in grand gestures, but in thousands of small moments: the warmth of her kitchen as she prepared a family recipe, the sound of her voice as she reminds the people around her how loved they are, and the gentle squeeze of her embrace. Her love was the kind that stitched itself into the fabric of who you were. If you were blessed to be loved by Glady, you knew the feeling of truly belonging.
Glady was diagnosed with an aggressive form of lung cancer in October of 2024. She faced her diagnosis with courage and unwavering strength. Even through the most challenging moments, she approached each day with grace, resilience, and profound bravery. Despite the hardship her body went through, she chose each and every day to fight not only for herself, but for her family.
In keeping with her wishes, a funeral will not be held. Instead, Glady asked those who knew her honor her by slowing down and sharing a meaningful moment with the people they love. A celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2026, with invitations to follow as details are finalized.
Glady was a constant source of warmth, steadiness, and love, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her. While the comfort of her presence will be deeply missed, her love remains- living on in every memory, every story shared, and every quiet moment we pause to appreciate.
