Dorothy Jones Erb

6/29/1930 - 12/16/2025

On December 16th Dorothy J. Erb passed over to join Her Lord and His heavenly flock of angels. Those that knew her will remember her as a loving mother, family member, and a friend to all that always had a kind word to speak and a helpful hand to lend.

Dorothy was born and grew up and lived her whole life on the same old country road in her beloved Bristol Hills. She attended grade school at the one room District School House Number 5. She completed her high school education at Canandaigua Academy, and trained to be a beautician, and ran a very

successful “beauty shop” out of her home for many years.

She loved to talk about going back and forth to the District School on a pair of wooden barrel slats for skis during the winter months. Her love of the winter season led her to a long career as a bookkeeper at Bristol Mountain Ski Resort, which became like a second home and family to her.

She was a lover of music and some of her favorite memories always included her trips to Max Raney’s Bar M Ranch in Bloomfield on Saturday nights to dance and be entertained by many of the popular Country and Western performers of the day.

She is predeceased by her parents Walter and Elizabeth Jones, and husband Robert C. Erb.

She is survived by her son Rob (Julie) Erb and daughter Rhonda (Bill) Jenner, granddaughter Kerry Erb, grandson’s Karl (Kim) Jenner and Travis (Amy) Erb, many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends, especially her dear friend Pearl, at Avon Nursing Home.

Following in her father’s footsteps, Dorothy was a board member and treasurer of Evergreen Cemetery of Bristol for many years and was instrumental in the construction of the beautiful Veterans Memorial.

A Celebration of Life will be held on December 27, 2025, at the United Church of Bristol, 7177 County Road 2, Bloomfield NY at 11am. A private interment will be held at a later date.
