John F. "Jack" Mahan Obituary
John F. “Jack” Mahan, 73, passed away suddenly on March 2, 2026, at Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, New York.
Jack was a graduate of Penn Yan Academy and was employed at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center until his retirement. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication throughout his career. Jack was an avid golfer and an excellent bowler. Even after he could no longer actively participate, he enjoyed supporting his teams and staying connected to the sports he loved. One of his greatest enjoyments in later years was diamond painting. He was remarkably talented and created many beautiful pieces of art that reflected his patience and creativity.
Above all, Jack cherished time spent with his family and grandchildren. He had a gift for making others feel valued and will be remembered for his loyalty, warmth, and the stories he so loved to tell.
Jack was the son of the late Patrick and Sarah Mahan. He was also predeceased by his beloved grandmother, Mayme Mahan; his sister, Mary Patricia Campbell; and his brothers, Patrick and James Mahan.
He is survived by his loving partner, Florrie Lodico; his children, Anthony and Angela; his sisters, Alice (Leigh) MacKerchar, Debora (Charles Hock) Mahan, Joan (Thomas) Ulam, and Donna (Tony Almeida) Mahan; his grandchildren, Anthony, Nicholas Lodico, and Inaya; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
