Gerald P. Wyffels Obituary

Gorham – Gerald “Gerry” Wyffels, born March 30, 1939, passed away on March 27, 2026, just three days shy of his 87th birthday, while at the House of John in Clifton Springs, NY, following a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. His life was defined by dedication—to his family, his work, his community, and the many projects that kept his hands busy and his mind engaged.

Gerry graduated from Middlesex Valley in 1958, where he was named Class King, a distinction he carried with quiet pride. He went on to attend RIT, setting the foundation for a long and accomplished career.

Gerry spent more than 30 years with ITEK aka ABDick Company, a career that took him across the world and allowed him to see 49 of the 50 states. He carried those experiences with him, always ready to tell a story and memory.

A committed community member, Gerry served over 20 years with both Rotary and the Ontario County Fair Board. During his time with Rotary, he received the Paul Harris Fellowship, one of the organization’s highest honors, and achieved perfect attendance, reflecting his unwavering dedication and service.

He married Jean Frarey on July 30, 1960, raising their family and remaining devoted to one another throughout their 48 years of marriage, until her passing in 2008.

Gerry was predeceased by his parents, Phillip and Olive Wyffels; by his brothers, Charles Wyffels and Donald Thayer; by his beloved wife Jean, his grandson Kyle Christensen and his son‑in‑law Ed Conklin.

He is survived by his three daughters: Miki (Geoff) Burnett, Becky (Brian Norton) Christensen and Carrie Conklin; his grandsons, Josh (Anne) Burnett, Ryan (Kristin) Burnett, Mike (Michael Fleenor) Christensen, and Greg Wyffels; his great‑grandchildren Lana and Lilly Burnett, and Hunter and Levi Burnett; and his close companion Anna Simmons.

Friends may call Friday, April 3, from 1-5 PM at Fuller Funeral Home, 190 Buffalo St., Canandaigua, NY. A 5 PM funeral service will follow at the funeral home.
