Bruce “Bill” Harris Jr., 79, of Canandaigua, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, at M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center, leaving behind a lasting legacy of love and gratitude. The care, compassion, and kindness he received on the Gardens unit were a true reflection of the impact he had on those around him. For that, his family is eternally grateful.

Born on December 28, 1946, Bill was the son of the late Bruce Harris Sr. and Grace Lashway. He grew up in Palmyra as the oldest of seven siblings, a role that helped shape his strong sense of family and responsibility. He later made his home in Canandaigua, where he married the love of his life, Susan (“Suzie”) Harris, and together they built a life centered on family.

Bill was a devoted father to Michael (John) Harris, Craig (Erin) Harris, and Krissy (Joe) Castle. He was also a proud and loving Papa to Mercedes (“Cede”) Castle, Tyler Castle, Jessica Harris, and Justin Harris. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Over the years, Bill worked a variety of jobs before retiring from Commodore Plastics. Outside of work, he embraced life with enthusiasm. Whether he was playing euchre, bowling, golfing, racquetball, or cornhole, camping under the stars, fishing, or piecing together a jigsaw puzzle, Bill was always ready for a good time—especially if it meant being with family. Bill was also the #1 San Francisco 49'ers Fan!

Known for his lighthearted nature and quick wit, Bill had a gift for making people laugh. Even as he faced the challenges of Parkinson’s disease, he never lost his sense of humor or his ability to bring joy to others. He touched many lives, and his legacy of laughter, love, and resilience will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Friends may call Friday, May 8, from 2–4 PM at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc., 190 Buffalo St., Canandaigua. A funeral service will follow at 4 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be held on Saturday, May 9, at West Bloomfield Rural Cemetery, 8992 NY-5, West Bloomfield.
