Jean E. Middlebrook, 98, passed away April 15, 2026, at Clark Manor House assisted living facility in Canandaigua, NY. She was born on August 11, 1927, to Bertha and Arthur Middlebrook. Jean was their only child.

Jean graduated from high school in 1944 from Canandaigua Academy. She started working at age 16 for Rochester Telephone immediately following graduation. Jean retired in 1978 after 33 years with the company.

Following retirement, Jean did volunteer work for the Red Cross, the Ontario Col. Health Facility, Thompson Hospital and Meals on Wheels.

Jean was not one to just sit around, she went to BOCES and became a nurse's aid to care for people in their homes. In 1979 she was hired as the Administrator of Clark Manor House assisted living facility and worked for 17 ½ years.

Jean was a long-standing member of the First United Methodist Church and other church organizations; life member of Genesee Chapter Rochester Telephone, a member of the Canandaigua Botanical Society and was active with the Ontario County ARC.

Jean is survived by several cousins and her close friends Roy & Nancy Beecher and their son Ross.

She is predeceased by her parents Arthur and Bertha Middlebrook.

Friends may call Thursday, April 23, from 1-2 at The Chapel at Woodlawn Cemetery 130 N. Pearl St. Canandaigua. A 2 PM funeral service will follow at the chapel. The interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery on the same day.
