Donald Colf, 88, of Canandaigua, NY, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, in Canandaigua, NY, surrounded by his girls and grandchildren.

Donny was born in Canandaigua, NY to John and Francis Colf on November 7, 1937. He was one of four children. One brother, Richard Colf, and two sisters, Eleanor Dixon and Marleen Shepard.

Donny worked at the Canandaigua VA right out of high school, then went onto driving tractor trailer. He drove for the Canandaigua Winery for many years. Donny then followed his dreams and pursued singing country music. During this time, he went to Nashville, put together a band, and recorded his records. He also met several country legends and had the opportunity to perform with his idol, Willie Nelson. Soon after he returned to Canandaigua, played with the band Hoss and the Roadrunners. Country music continued throughout his life.

Donny was greatly loved by his dearest friend, Debbie Allen and his six girls, Linda (David), Judy (Bruce), Lori, Shelly, Tracey, and Bonnie. He was also greatly loved by his grandchildren, Travis, Tonya (Jared), Alicia (Phillip), Anthony (Tracey), Christopher, Jammie (Roger), Kyle, and Cody, as well as his twelve great-grandchildren.

Donny was known for his real love of country music. His deep voice always gave a warm feeling throughout the crowd. He had a gift of storytelling, connecting with others and was always ready to share a laugh or a memory.

Donny will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Friends may call Wednesday, May 13, from 2-4 PM at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. A 4 PM memorial service will follow at the funeral home.
