Terry L. Goodman, 78, passed away May 30, 2026, surrounded by family. Terry was born on May 23, 1948, in Clifton Springs, New York to Elwin and Emily Goodman. Terry graduated from Simmons School of Embalming and was a funeral director in Canandaigua for more than 50 years. His legacy lives on in the countless families he supported, always with humor, quick wit and genuine compassion.

Terry was a proud U.S Army veteran and a member of the American Legion for decades. He previously served on the pastor parish relations board of the Aloquin Flint United Methodist Church. Terry was past president and secretary of the Canandaigua Lions Club. He was secretary and treasurer of the OWY Funeral Directors Association for over 25 years.

An avid reader, as evidenced by his library of thousands of books. A lover of all music, especially that of Bob Dylan, who was his absolute favorite. Terry had every Bob Dylan album ever recorded as well as every book about him.

He was a huge Wizard of Oz fan, collecting everything from the book in braille to a sweatshirt personally signed by four of the munchkins.

Terry and Linda spent years traveling and touring the country to eat, his favorite pastime. He spent hours cooking, woodworking, and acquiring a minimum of 3 of every tool and gadget in the garage, because "you never know".

Terry loved being Grandpa, the "adventure" trips, woodworking projects in the garage, cooking with them and endless shenanigans.

Terry is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda; children Tracy Goodman of Victor, Mike Allen of Bloomfield, Todd (Christie) Allen of Farmington and Kim (Casey) Cowburn of Andover. Grandchildren Morgan, Jack, Taylor, Austin, Wesley, Trenton, Makenzie, Aiden, Hailey and Drew, brother Charles of Victor, niece Ciara Steele and nephew Danny Steele. Terry was predeceased by his parents and sister, Sharon Rolfe.

Friends may call Saturday June 13, from 1-3 PM at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. A 3 PM memorial service will follow at the funeral home.
