Charles G. Figenscher Jr., affectionately known as "Chuck," passed away peacefully on Father's Day, June 21, 2026, at the age of 89, at M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center.
Born on December 1, 1936, Chuck was the beloved son of Charles and Gertrude Figenscher. He was born and raised in Canandaigua, New York, and graduated from Canandaigua Academy, where he developed the strong work ethic and friendly personality that would define his life.
Chuck held a variety of jobs throughout his life. He worked as a shoe salesman and in the grocery business before beginning a 27-year career with Kodak as a forklift operator. After retiring from Kodak, he continued working as a security officer at Canandaigua Wine Company for 13 years. He later served as a groundskeeper at Widewaters, enjoying the opportunity to stay active and meet new people.
Chuck loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed taking walks. In his later years, he could often be found visiting Wegmans, Tom's Mobil, or Dobb's Auto, where he looked forward to chatting with friends and making new acquaintances.
He had a gift for entertaining others with his singing and his spot-on impressions of Rodney Dangerfield, John Wayne, Rocky, Dean Martin, Elvis Presley, and his WWE characters.
A devoted sports fan, Chuck enjoyed professional wrestling, NFL football, and boxing. Above all else, he treasured time with his family and took great pride in watching his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow.
Chuck is survived by his two sons and a daughter, Daniel (Luanne), John (Carolyn) Figenscher, and Faith (Frank) Warner. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren: David, Reilly (Daphne), Dustin, Brittany (Olivia, Emery), Aaron, Kali (Eyla), Daniel, Jordan (Braxton), and Mariah, Tyler, (Rylan), who brought him immense joy.
He was preceded in death by his former wife, Carol Figenscher Gorgonzola, who passed away in 2016, as well as his parents, Charles and Gertrude Figenscher.
In accordance with Chuck's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private burial at Woodlawn Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Chuck's memory to the Ontario County Humane Society (Happy Tails Animal Shelter) 2976 County Road 48 Canandaigua, NY 14424, reflecting his lifelong love for animals.
Chuck will be remembered for his warm smile, quick wit, love of laughter, and the happiness he brought to those around him. His kindness, humor, generosity, and unwavering love for his family will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
