Richard Albert DeBoerdere, 72, of Canandaigua N.Y. Also known as "Spoons" passed away on August 6, 2026, at F.F. Thompson Hospital surrounded by his family.

Richard was born in Rochester N.Y. on February 1,1954 to the late Leevan and Margaret DeBoerdere.

He is survived by his wife Rita Marie DeBoerdere, his children Albert DeBoerdere of Farmington N.Y., Tina (Bob) Northrup of Canandaigua N.Y., Neil (Penny) DeBoerdere of Dundee N.Y., Patricia (Francis) Wilson of Walworth N.Y.; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call Thursday, Aug. 20, from 2-4 PM at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. Richard requested that everyone wear something red, white and blue please. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow calling hours at the American Legion Post #256, 454 N Main St, Canandaigua. Please contact Tina Northrup at 315-651-6884 to coordinate a dish to pass.
