Rick McIlveen, 69, of Fairport NY, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

Survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Karen McIlveen; and children Lindsey (Andrew) Remillard of Fairport, NY, Lauren McIlveen (Matthew D’Angelo) of Fairport, NY; sister Lisa Mitchell (Steven), brother David Mincer; two grandsons Daniel and Benjamin Remillard, and many cherished nieces and nephews. He was well loved for 46 years by his Delaney/Auburn family.

Rick was preceded in death by his mother Bonita Mincer, father James McIlveen, stepfather Jim Mincer, and sister Tracy Richter.

Rick was born on November 25, 1956 in Canandaigua, NY. He graduated from RIT with a B.S. in Business Management and began his 20 year career at Mobil Chemical. Rick then had a successful career in business development and warehousing at several major logistic companies. His success allowed him to enjoy an early retirement.

Those who knew him will remember his strength, wit, work ethic and organizational skills. He found great joy in caring for his family and his two grandsons Daniel and Benjamin. He loved his family, home, landscaping, woodworking, and traveling.

There will be no calling hours.

All family and friends are invited to a funeral Mass that will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 17 at St. Mary’s Church 95 N. Main Street, Canandaigua, NY 14424.

A private burial for family will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Canandaigua, NY.
