Denise Marie Chamberlin (née Kudla), 66, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 29, 2026, surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Denise was born on November 15, 1959, in Auburn, New York, to David J. Kudla Sr. and Marie N. Kudla (née Dellonte).

She was a lifelong learner and eventually went on to attain her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Keuka College. She began her schooling at Cayuga County Community College which led to a career of caregiving that would define her life for nearly five decades. Denise was a lifelong nurse and, to everyone who worked alongside her, a natural leader. She spent 32 years as an RN and Nurse Manager at Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic, then worked as Nurse Manager at Finger Lakes Health, and most recently as Nurse Manager of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) in Rochester, New York.

Throughout her life, Denise ("Nise") took so much joy from her time with family, close friends, and colleagues. Those relationships carried her through her long battle with cancer, and when her body no longer allowed her to fulfill her purpose as a nurse, she found purpose and connection in other ways, spending hours each week checking in with family and friends. She accepted every invitation possible and hosted holiday gatherings. True to Nise's style, those gatherings routinely included games and prizes, an abundance of food and laughter - all delivered with ease and hospitality. She most treasured time with her children, grandchildren and loved keeping up with the lives of her many nieces and nephews.

Denise is survived by her parents, David J. Kudla Sr. and Marie Kudla, of Canandaigua, NY; her sons, Matthew M. Chamberlin, and Mark D. Chamberlin and his husband Gavin Reynolds; her grandchildren, Madison Chamberlin and Colin Chamberlin; and her siblings, David Kudla Jr. and his wife Sandy, Karen Mann (née Kudla) and her husband Eric, and Nancy DiPasquale (née Kudla) and her husband Chris, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
