Obituary of Henry Harris III

HENRY GIRD HARRIS III H. Gird Harris III, 80, formerly of Bristol Court, died May 31 at the Ontario Center. Mr. Harris was born on Sept. 13, 1934 in Kingston, NY to the late Henry and Vivian Wheeler Harris Jr. He was a graduate of the former Middlesex Valley High School and served as a radioman in the Navy. He retired from Gleason Works and had been an Aide at the VA Medical Center in Canandaigua. He was a member of the Cottage City United Methodist, the Erina Hose Company and Canandaigua Lodge 294 F&AM. Gird had been a volunteer with the Canandaigua Emergency Squad for over 25 years. Survivors include his sister Leslie (Wayne) Smith, Canandaigua; daughter Darcy Eckard, Williamsburg, KY; stepchildren Mark Mastin, Elmira, Michael and Gary Mastin both of Canandaigua and Nancy Galens, Stanley and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Crystal Beth Harris and his wife, Waneta. There will be no prior calling hours and memorial services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Manchester at a time to be announced. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.
