Obituary of Michael J. Pane

Michael J. Pane Canandaigua: Age 31, passed away peacefully at home after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer. Mike was born in Rochester and was predeceased by his father, Patrick J Pane Jr. Mike attended Canandaigua Academy where he played football and lacrosse; he then continued on to play lacrosse at NCAA Division II Le Moyne College, and transferred to NCAA Division I Binghamton University. He was employed by the Canandaigua City School District where he strived to make a difference for kids every day. Mike was an assistant lacrosse coach for Canandaigua for several years until his path led him to the challenge of starting a lacrosse program for the Gananda School District. There he coached, together with his best friend Stephen Smith, and mentored a young team to rival the best in the league. A true testimate to the spirit Mike lived by, his message to the lacrosse team he coached: "Leave it all out there. Give me your all and I will give you mine." As a brother, Mike cared deeply for his siblings, as a friend, Mike exemplified that a life lived to the fullest is a life well lived. Throughout his six year battle with brain cancer, Mike never once indicated that giving up was an option and he met every challenge head on with a positive attitude. Michael is survived by his dear friend Tricia Tepedino, his siblings Patrick, Anna (Ryan) Clune, and Stephen. Mike is also survived by his nephew Owen Clune, niece Olivia Clune and many close friends, including his best friend Stephen Smith. Friends and family will celebrate his life together Thursday, September 22, 2016 from 3-7 pm at Fuller Funeral Home, 190 Buffalo St, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
