Obituary of Cindy M. Stanton

Cindy M. Stanton, 53, of Canandaigua, NY, passed away on September 22, 2023 after a long battle with cancer and its many complications. She is predeceased by her father, Rev. William H. Stanton and twin brother, Mark A Stanton. She is survived by her fiancé, Floyd Hockenberry; her mother, Betty A Stanton; son, Jeremy (Sabrina Lamoree) Garvey; grandchildren, JaiLynn Garvey, Kassidi Garvey, Jameson Garvey; her siblings, Nancy (David) Sousa, Sheri (Dominick Oliver) Stanton, Tim Stanton; sister in-law, Michelle Stanton and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She is also survived by Floyd's children, Craig (Shannon) and Murphy Hockenberry and her son, Zachary Whiteman, Amy (Aaron) Fingar. Cindy was a mother figure to most everyone she knew and loved all living things. A 1:00pm Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 10, at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 83 Main Street, Binghamton, NY. Visitation prior to the service will be from 11:00am – 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Broome County Council of Churches CHOW program or the Tabernacle UMC in Cindy's honor. Plan to stay after the service for food and conversation, time for sharing stories of Cindy's incredible life. She wouldn't want you to go home hungry!
