Henry was my grandfather, though we never met. How I wish we had. I discovered his family just three months after he passed.

Dear Waneck family, Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of your dear loved one. It seems no greater sadness is felt than when someone so dear to us is loss. May you find comfort in your memories and draw strength from a promise God has provided which gives the hope of someday being reunited with your beloved Henry (John 5:28,29). This promised future is one that will be filled with great joy because it will include perfect health and everlasting life on a paradise earth where "the former things have passed away" (Rev. 21:4, Psalms 37:29). May you during this most difficult time find some comfort in knowing that God does care and He does hear our cries. Please accept my most sincere condolences.

So very sorry about the passing of your beloved Dad and friend, Hank. Your dear dad hired me in 1970 - my first steps into coal mining (the office actually). I worked for Hank in the Purchasing Dept at Florence Mining Company and then we were both transferred to R&P Coal years later. I will always remember his kindness and his love of family. And your dear Mom - what a precious loving lady she was. With sympathy and prayers. RIP Hank

I had the opportunity to work with Hank during his time at R&P Coal Company. He taught me much about the various aspects of coal purchasing. He was a gentlemen and always a pleasure to work with.

Hank and I became good professional buddies while I was a newsreporter for the Indiana Gazette and The Tribune-Democrat in Johnstown. He helped me do a better job than most in covering the coal industry in the Johnstown and Indiana areas.
I am sorry to hear about his passing and want all of you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
May God bless you, John Como

My condolences to the family of Hank Waneck. I am a former R&P Coal Co. employee who had a lot of respect and admiration for Hank during the time we worked together. He was always a gentleman regardless of the circumstances and was a mentor to me during our tenure there. He was so great about taking care of Charlotte, an inspiration to us all. May they rest in peace together again.

Matt, Nancy, and family,
We are sorry for your loss. What a beautiful tribute to your father! The "Matt" apple didn't fall far from the tree...sounds like fishing was in the blood Matt. A more appropriate retirement gift would have been a different colored life vest for each day of the week. Remember the good times with your father and family. Steve and I will keep you in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
