Obituary of Joanne Kepner

JOANNE KEPNER CANANDAIGUA: Joanne Kepner, 75, of Clark Meadows, formerly of Eagles Nest Drive, South Bristol, died Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Highland Hospital with her family by her side. Joanne was born in Upper Darby, PA, on May 5, 1934 to the late D. Clifford and Helen Golder. She received her teaching degree from West Chester State University and taught second grade in the Honeoye School District for over 30 years. Along with her late husband, Dale Kepner, she owned and operated Kepner's Equipment, Inc., on Kepner Road. She was a member and former president of the Honeoye Teachers Association, the New York State Retired Teachers Association and Delta Kappa Gamma. Joanne was also a member of the United Church of Bristol, The Red Hat Society, the Bristol Harmony Circle the Honeoye Eastern Star and a service member of the Cheshire Volunteer Fire Department. In the 1950s, Joanne had the distinction of becoming the South Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey Small Bore Free Style Rifle Champion. She enjoyed knitting, reading, gardening, jig saw puzzles and especially enjoyed summers with her family on the beach at Cape May, NJ. She is survived by her children and their spouses Steve(Robin) Kepner, Bristol, Cynthia (Walter) Kepner Wilson, Canandaigua and Sharon (Robert) Kepner Reich, Virginia Beach, VA and her granddaughters Felicia Marie Taromino (18), Canandaigua and Morgan Lee Reich (8), Virginia Beach. Friends may call at the Fuller Funeral Home, Inc., 190 Buffalo St., Canandaigua, Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A celebration of Joanne's life will be held at the United Church of Bristol, 7177 County Road 2, Bloomfield at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1. Burial will be at a later date.
