Obituary of Rose Marie Broomfield
Rose Marie Broomfield
Shortsville- Marie Broomfield passed away peacefully after a brief illness October 5, 2013 with her family by her side.
Marie was born and raised in Victor where she enjoyed raising Cain with her extended Barry and Leary families on the family farm.
In 1957, she married Robert Broomfield from Shortsville. They were happily married for over 55 years and together they raised seven children and were given four granddaughters and a grandson. Additionally they shared the joy of having three great-grandchildren.
Maries family was always her priority and she had knack for making them each feel loved and special in their own way. She devoted many years to following her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to their sporting events and other extracurricular activities; she always was their biggest fan.
Her years of compassion and caretaking did not stop with her children. She dedicated over 45 years of her life to working in the health care filed, working in several local hospitals, finally retiring in 1993.
Beyond her retirement she provided laughter, love and care through private duty nursing.
In her spare time she frequently enjoyed spending time scrapbooking photo albums for each of her seven children, watching the birds outside her back porch windows and meticulously caring for her beautiful garden.
In her retirement years she took great pleasure in traveling with her loving husband to their winter home in Mesa, Arizona. During the summer and fall their enjoyed road trips with their best friends Barb and Bucky Broomfield and Fred and Ann Mulcock.
All that knew her will say she was caring, kind, selfless and a great listener. There was never a request or favor that was too big or too small. Marie did whatever she could to make others happy.
She will be sorely missed and forever loved by her family and friends.
