Obituary of Joseph Nye

Joseph D. Nye II Beloved Father and Grandfather Canandaigua- Joseph D Nye II passed away peacefully, July 15, 2014 at his daughter Barbara's home in Canandaigua. Joe was born to the late Joseph Dayton and Lola Francis Nye, September 23, 1930 in Glade Springs, Virginia. He served with the US Navy from 1951-1955 as a hospital corpsman and retired as Chief of Processing and Distribution at the Canandaigua VA. Joe was very involved in the Masonic Order (32 degree Mason), the Eastern Star, and the Damascus Shrine, holding many positions throughout 50+ years. He is survived by daughters, Frances Ann (Harold) Hughes, Phyllis (James) Langan, Deborah (Stephen) Cammilleri and Barbara Wasson; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and six great- great grandchildren. Joe was predeceased by his wife, Anna Keys Nye (1986) and beloved companion, Eva Patterson (2005). Friends may call Tuesday, July 22 from 4-7 pm at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. A 7:00pm memorial service will follow at the funeral home. A Masonic memorial service will be held prior to the memorial service. A private family burial will take place this fall at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Joe's favorite charitable organization, the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 1645 W 8th St, Erie PA 16505.
