Obituary of Hazel Schaeffer

Hazel H. Schaeffer Canandaigua- Hazel Schaeffer returned to God on December 2, 2014. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years, Justin T. Schaeffer; brothers, Francis, Douglas, Lavern, Leonard and a sister Jeanne Overacre. Hazel is survived by her children, Karen S. (Michael) Ham, Sharon L. (Francis) Reid, J. Thomas II (Virginia) and David L. Schaeffer; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren; sister, Elaine H. Kornbau, of Kansas; brother, Gary Hughson, of Las Vegas, NV; and several nieces and nephews. Hazel and her husband owned two local businesses; the Rotary Service Station and the Ale House. She worked as a secretary for many years at Saint John’s Church, for Father Avery; Orton Motors; Dr. Armstrong and Dr. Philip Standish. She also worked at G.W. Lisk and G.G. Bra. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of Fuller Funeral Home, Inc., Canandaigua.
