Mary Ellen (Scrivener) Wood died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, December 18 at her home in Canandaigua.

Mary Ellen was born on August 27, 1929 in Rochester, NY. She graduated from Honeoye Falls High School and attended Genesee Junior College. In 1952 she married Roger Franklin Wood.

She is survived by her brother Clifford (Nancy) St. James of Webster Groves, Missouri and sons Roger Jr. (Katie), Kenneth (Heather), David (Karen) and Paul (Jill) Wood and grandchildren John Casey, Sarah Ellen, Hannah Ainsley, Taylor Ann, Caroline Elizabeth, Emma Grace and Hope Grace (all Woods). She was predeceased by her brother Kenneth, parents Albert and Alberta Scrivener and her husband of 55 years, Roger Wood Sr.

A memorial service will be held for Mary Ellen at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at the United Church, 11 Gibson Street, Canandaigua, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the United Church of Canandaigua (UnitedChurchCanandaigua.com) or the American Heart Association (AmericanHeart.org).
