Obituary of Alberta Hatch

ALBERTA HATCH 1921 – 2010 IONIA: Longtime Ionia resident Alberta Hatch, 88, of County Road 14, died with peace and dignity at her home on Saturday, January 30. Alberta was born in Naples on June 18, 1921 to the late Robert and Naomi Covert Morrow. She and her late husband, Harold, owned and operated Hatch Trucking for many years. She was an active member of the Ionia United Methodist Church where she served on many committees. Alberta had been treasurer of the Evergreen Cemetery Association in Bristol for over twenty years and was a member of the Ionia Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her grandsons Nathan (Kelly) Hatch of Rush and Robert Hatch of Groveland; her great grandson Jameson John Hatch; her cousins Rosalie Nudd of Naples and Hilda Steinbaugh of Florida and her sister-in-law Marion Hatch of Naples. She’s also survived by many dear friends and caring neighbors including John and Linda Champlin and their sons John and Joe. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold in 1991 and her son John in 1981. Friends may call at the Fuller Funeral Home, 190 Buffalo St., Canandaigua, Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Ionia United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Ionia United Methodist Church, Elton Road, Ionia, NY 14475 or to the YMCA Caring for Kids Freezfest 2010, in Honor of Marge Donhauser who cared for Alberta with great compassion during her final days, 32 North Main St., Canandaigua, NY 14424 Attn: Laura O’Shaughnessy.
