Obituary of Ross Crombe

Ross W. Crombe Appreciated and loved Canandaigua, NY Ross Crombe of Quail Summit passed away peacefully February 2 at Clifton Springs Hospital. He was 93. Born in Penfield, NY to John and Martha (Kemp) Crombe, Ross grew up on a small family farm. He served with the US Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. After his military service Ross married Pearl Foery and together they bought a home in Greece where they raised their family. Later Ross and Pearl moved to Kendall, NY on a small farm where he enjoyed raising mums and chickens. As a mechanic, he worked at Eastman Kodak for 30 years retiring in 1971. Ross was a life member of the VFW and an avid Hunter and Sportsman. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Pearl; children, Raymond (Deborah) Crombe, Lorraine (Gerald) Thompson; grandchildren, Valerie (Scott) Miller, Benjamin (Katie) Crombe, Karen (Aaron) Daniels, Donald Thompson and four great grandchildren. Ross is also survived by a sister Arlene McLellan, two sisters-in-law Polly and Rita Crombe and several nieces and nephews. Ross was predeceased by five siblings; Clyde, Raymond, William, Robert and Beatrice Finlan. A 1:00 pm memorial service will be held Tuesday February 9 at Crosswinds Wesleyan Church, 3360 Middle Cheshire Rd. Canandaigua. In lieu of flowers a contribution in Ross’ name may be made to the Lima Christian School, 1575 Rochester Street Lima, NY 14485.
