Helen was my flight instructor at Wally McAnn's old airport. Brian was a teenager at that time. It was obvious that she loved flying and I as well as other members of EAA Chapter 44 will miss her greatly. Helen was one of the charter members of Chapter 44.
I will never forget the confidence Helen instilled in me as a young aviator; the day I soloed back in the seventies, while Helen practiced putts on the grass Hopewell runway far below. Forever an angel in our hearts.
I knew Helen from Gypsum Mills, Winding Creek Golf Course. She was such a delight to be around and fun to play golf with. She was an inspiration and a beautiful person. May she rest in peace.
