Obituary of Joanne Smith

Joanne Smith Canandaigua, NY Joanne Smith, age 62, died on Monday May 24, 2010 at F.F. Thompson Hospital. Joanne was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on May 26, 1947 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Denver (Vera) Brereton Sr. Joanne obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kent State University and worked for the Department of Social Services in Ontario County, NY. Most importantly, she was a devoted mother, grandmother and wife. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Donald H. Smith of Canandaigua, NY; daughter Lynnette (Chuck) Lindsey of Ravenna, OH; grandchildren Charlie and Megan Lindsey; father-in-law Lloyd Smith of East Liverpool, OH. Joanne is also survived by two sisters Nanette (Philip) Pridmore of East Liverpool, OH; Betsy (Jim) Chaney of Toronto, OH; brother Denny (Karen) Brereton of East Liverpool, OH, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Nancy Klein, brother-in-law J. Keith Klein Jr. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held in East Liverpool, Ohio. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to the American Cancer Society.
