Obituary of Charles Phillips

CHARLES H. PHILLIPS Beloved Father CANANDAIGUA: Charles Phillips, 98, formerly of Quail Summit, died Tuesday, August 28 at Thompson Hospital. Charles was born in Bristol, NY on November 22, 1908 to the late Walter and Eleanor Case Phillips and was one of the first Eagle Scouts in the area. He served with the Army-Air Corps during WW-2 and later served with the Air Force during the Korean War retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He received a degree in Electrical Engineering from RPI and retired from Eastman Kodak in 1972 after more than 35 years. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Bonnie (Whit) Beckett of Rochester and Karen Phillips (Mario Tirado) of Canandaigua; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wives Frederica in 1949 and Janet in 2001. He was also predeceased by his granddaughter Melody Beckett. Friends may call at the Fuller Funeral Home, 190 Buffalo St., Canandaigua, Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. where funeral services will follow visitation at three o'clock. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Bristol, at the convenience of the family.
