Obituary of Lloyd Elliott

Lloyd I. Elliott Loving husband, father and pastor Shortsville NY Rev. Lloyd Elliott, 87, of Shortsville NY, died at the Friendly Home on Monday, May 26th, from complications of Alzheimer's disease. Rev. Elliott was born in Plattsburg, NY, on September 8th, 1920. He was the youngest of four brothers born into a pastor's family. He graduated from Houghton College and Eastern Theological Seminary. While at Houghton, he met his lifetime partner, Margie Fox. They were married in 1944 and eventually became the happy parents of two sons. Early in his career, Rev. Elliott pastored churches in Alloway, NJ; Swansea, MA, and Worcester, MA. Over the remaining years of his pastoral life, he served the Hancock Baptist Church, the Grace Baptist Church, and, in 1989 he and Margie moved to Canandaigua where he ministered as a Visitation Pastor of the Canandaigua Baptist Church. While he will be known to many as a wonderful pastor, he will always be remembered by his family as a loving husband, dad, grandfather, and great grandfather. Lloyd is survived by his wife: Margie Elliott: his sons: Bob (Kathy) Elliott of Rochester, NY, and Dan (Kerry) Elliott of Centennial, CO; His grandchildren: Ryan (Amy) Elliott of San Diego CA, Kim (Chris) Mason of Rochester, and Robyn Elliott of Rochester; and his four great grandchildren: Caleb, Joshua, Sophia, and Kate. His pastoring career may be completed but his ministry will continue through the many people he loved and mentored during the years of his life. " Ph 3:13-14 A service celebrating his life will be held at the Canandaigua Baptist Church this Sunday, June 1st, at 3:00 PM. with a reception following. The church is located at 5026 North Road in Canandaigua. The family request memorial contributions may be given to either the Agape Counseling Associates of Rochester, NY; the Hancock Baptist Church, of Hancock, NY, the Grace Baptist Church of Lansing, NY; or the Canandaigua Baptist Church, of Canandaigua.
