Louie, what a wonderful man, father, husband and friend. He welcomed me into his family and treated me like one of his own with love and kindness. He always had the jokes and the visual aids to go with them.He filled our family events with love and laughter and people loved to be in his company. He put up with allot in raising 5 children and did so with much love, patience and understanding and of course his sense of humor. He had many joys in his life and far too many heartaches from loosing his wife, son, Peter and daughter, Barbara too soon.I pray now they are all together and in a far better place without pain and loss.Heres to you Louie, for so many reasons for so many good times spent together, you helped make our lives better and we will forever be thankful. You will be remembered with much love and fond memories, and we will certainly miss you. Rest in Peace Lou and be with your loved ones once again in heaven together. Thank you Dad#2.

TO MIKE,JANIS AND KATHLEEN. SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT THE LOSS OF YOUR DAD. I HAVE SO MANY GREAT MEMORIES OF HIM AND YOUR MOM FROM OUR DAYS GROWING UP. HOW THEY PUT UP WITH ME AND THE REST OF OUR FRIENDS IS A TESTAMENT TO THEIR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING IN RAISING A BIG CATHOLIC FAMILY. HOW ANY OF OUR PARENTS DID IT IS BEYOND ME. IT WAS ALWAYS A PLEASURE TO GO TO YOUR HOME AND TALK TO AND KID AROUNG WITH YOUR DAD. HE WAS ALWAYS ONE TO TELL US A GOOD JOKE, WATCH US EAT HIS FOOD WITH A SMILE AND TO LET US KNOW WE WERE ALWAYS WELCOME IN HIS HOME EVEN WHEN WE WERE HAVING A PARTY OR PLAYING POKER IN THE BASEMENT DRIVING HIM AND YOUR MOM NUTS WITH THE NOISE. HE WAS A GOOD MAN AND WILL BE MISSED BY THOSE OF US WHO KNEW HIM. TAKE CARE AND FEEL FREE TO E-MAIL ME ANYTIME JUST TO SAY HI OR TO JUST CATCH UP. I KNOW ITS BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE ANY OF US HAS TALKED BUT AS I GET OLDER I FIND IT NICE TO RE-ESTABLISH OLD FRIENDSHIPS AND TO SEE WHATS NEW. TAKE CARE AND GOD BLESS. TALK TO YOU SOON. DANNY MERGENTHALER.

I lived at 498 N. Main St. in 1959-1960. I remember the entire Palumbo family, and even have some photos of us as kids together. I actually got in touch with Louis a few years ago, and he sent me a wonderful letter updating me on the family, and the fact my former residence was now an insurance agency. He was very nice, and told me he was thrilled I contacted him. I'm so sorry to learn of his passing, last I knew, he was planning to move to Florida.
